Your Hop, a tree spirit, wanders the forest looking for building materials such as wood, stone, and rare rubies. New crafting materials appear in the game every time you take about 500 steps. Keep track of your Hop's supply of materials on the Hop screen. You can also personalize the character and change its head color, clothes, arms, and accessories by trading in materials.

Every activity has a specific purpose in the app. For instance, your daily steps convert to grass in the game, which the Runimals consume. A Garden of Gains rewards you for time spent in the app, completed workouts, and meeting step goals. The plants have punny, playful names like Lily of the Walky and Cardiose.

Since there are prizes, this totally counts as a game.

CardioCast is a decent all-in-one exercise app. It includes many routines for indoor cycling, yoga, elliptical, and other types of workouts. You can do workouts in 20-, 30-, 45-, or 60-minute workouts, and there are various ways to track your fitness. This one isn’t necessarily a game, but it does give you rewards points for keeping up with your routines. Thus, it’s close enough to work with a list like this. The app has a good layout that is easy to read. It shouldn’t take you too long to figure out everything.

It’s one of the original fitness games on mobile, and it took a long time to mature. The subscription cost helps support the developer as they come out with new content. It’s relatively cheap compared to most fitness subscriptions, and we like that. It’s one of the original workout games and one you should definitely try.

Ingress Prime takes a slightly different approach to the “get out and go” exercise game. A mysterious new resource known as XM is discovered and now two factions, The Enlightened and The Resistance, is waging a secret war for dominance. You as the player gets to become an Agent and pick a side. Instead of hunting creatures or magic, you go to local landmarks to establish control of the area. There is a communication system built into the game so you can organize raids with your fellow agents. However, Ingress Prime has an age limit of at least 13 depending on where you live.
